We would like to thank you for selecting our office to care for your child’s dental needs.
It is very important to make the first dental visit a positive and enjoyable experience for your child as we build a foundation of trust and rapport for future visits. We strive to make your child’s first and subsequent dental visits as pleasing and comfortable as possible.
It is common for a young child to be apprehensive during the first dental visit (like the first day of school). We are experienced in dealing with children with anxiety and can explain tools and procedures in a child-friendly manner to ease their fear. Parents are always allowed to accompany their child. Our goal is to make the visit easy and informative for both you and your child.
During the first visit, we will provide a thorough exam to evaluate your child’s dental development and complete a cavity risk assessment. We will review proper brushing and flossing techniques and provide nutritional recommendations. If necessary, dental radiographs will be taken for proper diagnosis. A dental cleaning and fluoride treatment may also be performed. After establishing a treatment plan, a consultation of your child’s dental needs will be provided.
The initial visit will take approximately 40 to 50 minutes. For your convenience, the new patient form can be downloaded and printed at home. You can mail or fax the completed form to our office prior to the visit or bring it on the day of the appointment. If you prefer to complete the form on the day of the appointment, please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled time.
If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance and we will gladly reschedule your appointment.
